Angela Lansbury wins 5th Tony Award
Angela Lansbury, star of the Broadway revival of Noel Coward's Blithe Spirit, picked up her fifth Tony Award in New York for best featured actress in a play.
"Who would have thought? Who knew at this time of my life that I would be presented with this lovely, lovely award. I can't believe I am standing here. Blithe Spirit" is an old-fashioned play, but it has a great role in, which is Madame Arcati. I never envisioned myself doing this. It just fell into my lap. This is how life is sometimes. You don’t always know where the good stuff is coming from. So I’m very grateful."
