Making materials from Coward’s life available through accessible, sustainable cultural heritage practices for study, research, and cultural growth.

Mr. Coward is his own invention and contribution to this century. The 20th Century would be incomplete without Noël Coward. He was, quite simply, a genius.

- John Osborne

GATEWAY TO A WORLD OF NOËL COWARD

The Noël Coward Archive Trust is the central hub of a worldwide network of archives, libraries, museums and galleries holding Coward-related materials.

ABOUT THE NOËL COWARD ARCHIVE TRUST

Coward’s work remains an essential resource for 21st Century researchers, practitioners, students and enthusiasts worldwide. The mission of the Noël Coward Archive Trust (NCAT) is to preserve Coward’s legacy and influence by making publicly available materials from Coward’s lifetime through accessible, sustainable cultural heritage practices. Both our physical archive and digital collection are fully searchable in a directory of over 20,000 items held within the Noël Coward Archive, which will soon be available as both finding aid and digital catalogue. We also provide tours and research support for those who wish to learn more about his life and work.

The Noël Coward Archive Trust is a member of APAC (Association of Performing Arts Collections), SIBMAS (International Association of Libraries and Museums of the Performing Arts) and a supporter of the Archives and Records Association’s #ExploreYourArchive Campaign. NCAT’s American counterpart is the Noël Coward Archive (US) Inc.

NOËL COWARD’S PHILANTHROPIC LEGACY

NCAT’s mission is to follow in the footsteps of Coward himself, providing accessible pathways to knowledge about theatre and the arts. Coward himself was completely self-taught and understood the value of education. Like him, we combine our passion for learning with our love of theatre and this drives our own activities and outreach. In addition to our educational mission, we reflect Noël Coward’s philanthropic legacy and the charitable undertakings which formed so large a part of his life. Coward was the most active president of the Actor’s Orphanage (now Actors’ Children’s Trust), for 22 years from 1934 to 1956.
